Initiative nanoTruck

Nanotechnology at your fingertips

How can smallest particles and structures help in medicine, environmental technology, renewable energy production or lightweight construction? How can you store all documents of the German library on a mini data storage device and how can hundreds of medical tests be carried out on a surface as large as a finger nail? And what do I have to do, if I would like to pursue a career in nanotechnology?

To answer these and other fascinating questions relating nanotechnology, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has sent the nanoTruck throughout Germany for four years. The rolling future laboratory presented nanotechnology at your fingertips and reached many people in all regions of Germany. The initiative, which is part of the High-Tech Strategy 2020 by the German government, focuses on the generally understandable, clear transfer of useful information about the principles, fields of application, chances and risk potentials of the key technologies of the 21st century.

Following a successful roadshow across Germany, the nanoTruck is now giving a guest performance at MOST in Fuerth. This was arranged by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) together with the project executing organisation VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH, which is an Association of German Engineers.

MOST Mobile Specials is responsible for all aspects of the truck management. These include a professional and secure parking spot for the truck and two-storey trailer, regular maintenance, as well as implementing repairs and carrying out mandatory service check-ups on the vehicle, its function, electronics and structural quality. With the perfect all-inclusive hosting by MOST, the nanoTruck is ready to go in the service of science.
